Michael collaborated with Lionel Richie, Quincy Jones, and a host of legendary artists to create “We Are The World”, an American benefit single for African famine relief.
Eventually named the biggest selling single of all time, as of 2009, it sold more than 20 million units and raised over $63 million for humanitarian aid in Africa and the United States. “We Are the World” demonstrated that diverse musicians could productively work together and further influenced the movement within popular music to create songs that address humane concerns.

I love this recording session. His voice was perfect. It was beautiful. His voice takes you places that only his can do. Love you Michael.

It is so sad that they will be remaking this song for Haiti relief without it’s greatest star. I know that he would have immediately been doing whatever he could to help with the tragedy over there.

I often think Michael would be the first to help, try to do his best, without publicity, without any notice, without big moments on tv.
Now I heard on the news about Haiti, that artist, that singer, always on tv. Big moments on television, big egos on television.
Sorry but I have to say I don’t feel love from these artists, just a grab for airtime. People need help, not moments on television.Where is ” WHAT MORE CAN I GIVE?”
LOVE YOU MICHAEL

When hearing news about Haiti earthquake, I thought that if MJ was still here, he would be so sad and would do everything he could to help. To me, he is the kindest man in this world.
LOVE YOU SO MUCH, MICHAEL.

Happy 13th birthday, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., your Dad would be so proud of the fine young man you have become. Your father was the kindest, most sincere, most charitable person God ever gave to us; always remember that; he was all heart and soul.

I cried seeing the inserts of Michael in the new version. I so badly wish he could have really been in the song. Love you MJ xx

I can’t bring myself to watch the new “We are the World.” I’m sure MJ would have wanted to do something for the Haiti victims but why did they have to remake his song. I love you MJ always

My favorite footage of him….ever. So heartwarming. You can truly see how gentle and sweet he was. He was so motivated by doing something for others, and you can see it in how he wants everything to be just right. This mattered to him, just like everything else he did for others. Tireless and caring. My hero.
